Bozoma Saint John, Apple’s head of Global Marketing for Apple Music leaves the company to join Uber as their new Chief Brand Officer
Following earlier reports, Bozoma Saint John has confirmed her departure from Apple as their former head of Global Marketing for Apple Music, jumping ship to Uber as their new Chief Brand Officer. Bozoma joined Apple with the acquisition of Beats Music in 2014 and was recently named one of Black Enterprise’s ‘Most Powerful Women in Business’.
One of Bozoma’s most important roles at Apple was to guide Apple Music through it’s introduction and early stages when users started to explore the service. Bozoma gained attention as one of the few high-level women at Apple, with the company often criticized for having few non-white members in its senior staff.
Bozoma Saint John made her first appearance last year at WWDC 2016, with “Boz”, the self-proclaimed “head diva” of global consumer marketing turning her segment focused on promoting Apple Music into a lively one which saw the audience asked to clap along and rap the classic hit, “Rapper’s Delight.”
Quite frankly, what has happened in the past is nothing that I can control, but I do think there is a real opportunity for the future of Uber and what the vision is going to be.
Bozoma Saint John is hitting the road with us as our Chief Brand Officer and we couldn’t be more excited. Welcome, @badassboz. https://t.co/1ou4ByYZ4y
