During Apple’s media event today which saw the introduction of their new Apple TV 4K, Apple’s Eddy Cue announced that the ‘TV’ app which supports more than 60 services for Apple TV and iOS devices will be rolling out to seven new countries this year, including the U.K., Canada and Australia.
Initially launching in Canada and Australia later this month, the service will also be available for those in Germany, France, Sweden, Norway and the UK by the end of the year. Sports fans will be able to track their favorite teams and have Apple TV push an on-screen notification whenever a game starts.
Apple has brought the A10X Fusion Apple chip (currently found within the iPad Pro) over to the new Apple TV 4K, improving CPU performance 2x over the previous generation. During the keynote, it was announced Apple has made agreements with major Hollywood studios to allow for 4K movies being made available at the same cost as HD versions, with free automatic upgrades to 4K HDR for previous purchases.
