Apple’s new 9.7-inch iPad will arrive to Apple retail stores and other retailers at some point “next week”
Following the devices launch yesterday, Apple has announced that their new 9.7-inch iPad will arrive to Apple retail stores and third-party retailers at some point “next week”, meaning the device will be available online first before making its way into the hands of customers at Apple retail outlets worldwide.
The new lower-cost device features Apple’s A9 chip alongside a 10-hour battery life and a 8 megapixel rear camera. Surprisingly the tablet is thicker and heavier than the iPad Air 2 and doesn’t feature laminated glass, and no anti-reflective glass.
“iPad is the world’s most popular tablet. Customers love the large, 9.7-inch display for everything from watching TV and movies, to surfing the web, making FaceTime calls, and enjoying photos, and now it is even more affordable,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “New customers and anyone looking to upgrade will love this new iPad for use at home, in school, and for work, with its gorgeous Retina display, our powerful A9 chip, and access to the more than 1.3 million apps designed specifically for it.”
The new low-cost iPad will be available in the US and more than 20 countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK from Friday, with Denmark, India, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Turkey and other countries and regions receiving the device in April.
