Apple Watch Series 3 owners in the UK unable to activate LTE connectivity due to EE fault
Apple Watch Series 3 owners in the United Kingdom are reporting a fault with the EE cellular network which is causing havoc for those who are trying to activate the LTE functionality of their wearables.
According to EE, the company is investigating the issue which is throwing out up to four error messages at users, with the carrier recommending customers call their customer support centre for a fix. Before calling, EE recommend online that users go to the Apple Watch app on their iPhone and select “Mobile Data”. If it says “Activating” that means it’s working and all you need to do is wait for it to complete. It can take up to 2 hours, but may complete quicker.
Posts to the EE support forum show some users have been able to fix the issue for themselves be unpairing the watch from their iPhone, turning off the device for three hours and re-pairing.
EE says that owners seeing any one of four error messages should not attempt to activate again, but should instead call them.
