Apple release iWear, a new clothing line dedicated to Apple co-founder Steve Jobs
Appearing unexpectedly on Apple’s online store this morning, Apple has launched iWear, a new clothing line dedicated to Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. Consistent of a mock black turtleneck, jeans, gray New Balance 991 sneakers, and a pair of non-prescription Steve Jobs-style glasses, iWear is Apple’s stab at the clothing market, hoping to cash in on those who wish to dress like the legendary entrepreneur who brought Apple to life on 1st April 1976.
Pushing the clothing line with the ad campaign slogan: “Be Like Steve”, Apple’s range of iWear clothing will be reaching retail stores worldwide next week, launching in the US and more than 20 countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, UK, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, with Denmark, India, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Turkey and other countries and regions receiving the range in late April.
Steve Jobs famously wore the same black turtleneck, blue jeans and New Balance sneakers every day, it quickly became his trademark look and now Apple is bringing that look back to life. It’s been reported that customers will be able to sample the clothing for themselves in Apple Stores, with new changing areas being installed next to the Genius Bar in their larger stores around the world.
“All parts of the official Steve uniform will be neatly boxed, Apple style: mock black turtleneck, jeans and grey New Balance 991 sneakers. In addition, copies of Steve’s glasses (non-prescription) are available to complete the look.”
If you haven’t realised already, iWear is nothing but an April Fools’ Day prank… But wouldn’t this be funny if you spotted a Steve Jobs turtleneck and blue jeans in an Apple Store branded as iWear.
