Apple Pay Cash appears in Spain, Brazil and Ireland hinting at imminent rollout
An imminent launch of Apple Pay Cash appears to be on the cards for iOS users in Spain, Brazil and Ireland, with multiple reports showing that the Apple Pay Cash payment app was showing within the Messages app for a handful of users.
Apple Pay Cash will allow person-to-person payments through the official Apple Pay iMessage app. When a user is sent funds via the service they will receive an Apple Pay Cash account which they can then use instantly to make a purchase using Apple Pay in stores or online, send as a payment to someone else, or transfer it from Apple Pay Cash to their bank account.
Currently Apple Pay Cash is available exclusively in the United States launching last December alongside the public release of iOS 11.2. Transactions through the service are free for debit cards, but incur a 3% fee when using credit cards. It’s unclear if Apple will add an additional fee like most services for sending international funds.
