Apple discontinues Modern Buckle Apple Watch band
Apple has quietly discontinued the Modern Buckle Apple Watch band, one of the first straps that launched alongside the original Apple Watch in 2015.
Available in Soft Pink, Brown, Midnight Blue, and Black; the Modern Buckle leather Apple Watch band was sold at £149.00/$149.00 for the 38mm Apple Watch only. Apple is currently listing the accessory as “Out of Stock” online, but its likely the store listing will disappear altogether soon.
The Modern Buckle Apple Watch band featured an inner layer of Vectran weave material to give the band some extra strength and stretch resistance, the same material NASA used to make the landing airbags for the Mars Rover spacecraft.
A small French tannery established in 1803 produces the supple Granada leather for this elegant strap. The smooth top-grain leather is lightly milled and tumbled to maintain its refined texture. What looks like a solid buckle is actually a two-piece magnetic closure that’s delightfully simple to secure. We also added an inner layer of Vectran weave for strength and stretch resistance. It’s the same material NASA used to make the landing airbags for the Mars Rover spacecraft. Like all Apple Watch straps, you can match this strap with any Apple Watch case of the same size.
