Apple to continue Carpool Karaoke spin-off for a second season
CBS has announced during their earnings call today that Apple has been licensed for a second season of their Apple Music exclusive Carpool Karaoke spin-off, offering official confirmation that Apple will return the series following it’s launch exclusively on the company’s music streaming service last year.
The announcement by television broadcasting company CBS who owned the series part of The Late Late Show did not reveal any information as to when fans can expect the release of the second season or who will be jumping behind the wheel to host.
Apple’s first series of Carpool Karaoke was licensed for 16 episodes of the show, with Apple releasing new episodes on a weekly basis.
In July 2016, it was announced that Apple was the surprise buyer of the unscripted TV series, with the company planning to air the new series to their subscribers worldwide. – Episode 1 of Apple’s Carpool Karaoke spin-off was hosted by James Corden and Will Smith.
