Apple commemorates Martin Luther King Jr. Day, sharing a full-page photo and quote on their website
Apple has updated their American website, commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a full-page photo and quote from the legendary civil rights leader, with Apple CEO, Tim Cook, personally taking to Twitter to honour ‘#MLK‘ and share Apple’s commitment to deliver justice and equality.
Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in.
Officially, King’s birthday was yesterday, Sunday 15th January, however it’s celebrated in the U.S. with a national holiday on the third Monday of January each year. Last year, Apple gave their employees a day off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, with the company previously offering special gift-matching promotions, donating $50 for every voluntary hour worked by its employees.
