iOS 27 makes it possible to turn compatible physical cards into digital passes that can be stored in Apple Wallet on your iPhone.
The Create a Pass feature is designed for items such as membership and loyalty cards, helping reduce the number of physical cards you need to carry. Compatible passes can display a barcode or QR code from your iPhone or Apple Watch.
You can create a pass by scanning a physical card with your iPhone camera where supported, or build one manually from within the Wallet app.
How to create an Apple Wallet pass in iOS 27
- Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
- Tap the + button.
- Select Create a Pass.
- Choose the option to scan a physical pass with your iPhone camera.
- Position the card so your iPhone can clearly see its barcode or relevant information.
- Review the information detected by your iPhone.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to customize the pass where available.
- Add the finished pass to Apple Wallet.
If a card cannot be imported automatically, Create a Pass also provides manual options for creating supported standard, membership and event passes.
