Apple seeds second iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 developer betas

Apple has seeded its second developer betas of iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 for iPhone and iPad, bringing new features and improvements ahead of an expected October release.
With the updates, Apple has added the ability to “Favorite” songs and albums in Apple Music, a new setting for AirDrop to enable transfers over cellular data, in addition to Wi-Fi, plus a fix for a bug in the Podcasts app that wouldn’t show full-screen chapter artwork for some podcasts.
iOS 17.1 includes a new “Display” section to the StandBy section of the Settings app, which includes some new customization options. The display can be set to turn off automatically, after 20 seconds, or never.
Using the UK’s Open Banking API, the Wallet app will add the ability to display a user’s bank balance in the app on iPhone for those banking with Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, RBS, Monzo, and Starling. Users will see account balances, payments, purchases, and deposits within the Wallet app, similar to what they would see in their bank’s mobile app.
iOS 17 introduced a wide range of improvements to the iPhone, including upgrades across the FaceTime, Messages and Phone apps, new AirDrop capabilities, StandBy, a new way to view glanceable information when iPhone is set down and charging, new interactive widgets, and more.
iPadOS 17, which is available for the iPad (6th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation and later), 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and 11-inch iPad Pro (1st generation and later), adds many of the new features introduced with iOS 17, including significant updates for Messages, including a new stickers experience, and users can now leave FaceTime video and audio messages.
