Apple now selling EarPods with USB-C

Apple has released new EarPods with USB-C in line with the launch of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, which feature USB-C.
Despite the change to the connector, the EarPods themselves remain the same as before.
The switch from Apple’s proprietary Lightning connector to USB-C comes following new rules imposed by the European Union on smartphone makers that require all smartphones to use one standard charging port — USB-C. This move aims to enhance consumer convenience and reduce electronic waste by promoting a universal charging solution, making it easier for users to find compatible chargers and reducing the need for multiple cables and adapters.
Apple says “Unlike traditional, circular earbuds, the design of the EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other earbud-style headphones. The speakers inside the EarPods have been engineered to maximise sound output and minimise sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.”
The EarPods with USB-C also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
