Hermès Apple Watch accessories removed ahead of ‘Wonderlust’ event

French fashion label Hermès has removed its full range of designer Apple Watch accessories from its website ahead of Apple’s highly-anticipated ‘Wonderlust’ special event tomorrow, where the iPhone maker is expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 9 and second-generation Apple Watch Ultra.
According to rumors, Apple will discontinue its genuine leather iPhone and Apple Watch accessories and replace the lineup with new synthetic leather options beginning tomorrow, which will be more ethical and environmentally friendly than genuine leather.
As part of the move, Apple’s long-running partnership with Hermès has been put into question, with many speculating that by axing all first-party leather accessories beginning tomorrow, Apple may subsequently end its partnership with Hermès, who offers the widest selection of leather bands and straps for the Apple Watch.
Last week, The Apple Post reported that stock checks of Apple.com show that Hermès’ full collection of leather AirTag accessories are all currently unavailable to purchase, again suggesting that Apple will no longer offer genuine leather accessories for any of its products beginning this month.
As spotted by 9to5Mac, Hermés has removed the entire “Apple Watch Hermès” section under “Jewelry and Watches” on its site, although the label’s genuine leather AirTag accessories currently remain available.
