Apple reportedly selling Apple Watch Hermès leather accessories at up to 90% off to employees

Apple is seemingly emptying its inventory of Apple Watch Hermès leather accessories ahead of the launch of the Apple Watch Series 9 next week at the iPhone maker’s ‘Wonderlust’ special event, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claiming that Apple last month started offering employees its Hermès leather accessories (and leather link bands) at up to 90% off.
Writing on X, formally Twitter, Gurman says Apple’s internal deal continues in the run up to next week’s special event, although online, Apple shows that almost all official Hermès Apple Watch accessories are now sold out.
According to rumors, Apple will discontinue its genuine leather iPhone and Apple Watch accessories and replace the lineup with new synthetic leather options, which will be more ethical and environmentally friendly, as synthetic leather does not involve animal harm and can be produced with fewer environmental impacts.
Update on that assumption: I’m told that Apple last month started offering employees its Hermes leather accessories (and leather link bands) at up to 90% off. Clearly some inventory clearing going on. The internal deal continues but everything is out of stock. https://t.co/fBrLlTY9kC

On Tuesday, The Apple Post reported that stock checks of Apple.com show that Hermès’ full collection of leather AirTag accessories are all currently unavailable to purchase, again suggesting that Apple will no longer offer genuine leather accessories for any of its products beginning this month.
The official Hermès online store continues to show all AirTag and Apple Watch accessories as available to purchase.
