Hermès’ collection of leather AirTag accessories are all currently unavailable to purchase through Apple amid rumors of the iPhone maker dropping its own range of genuine leather accessories for the iPhone and Apple Watch beginning with the launch of the iPhone 15 next week.
According to rumors, Apple will discontinue its genuine leather iPhone and Apple Watch accessories and replace the lineup with new synthetic leather options, which will be more ethical and environmentally friendly, as synthetic leather does not involve animal harm and can be produced with fewer environmental impacts.
Ahead of Apple’s ‘Wonderlust’ special event next week, stock checks of Apple.com (conducted by The Apple Post) in the US show that all of Hermès’ genuine leather AirTag accessories are currently unavailable to purchase, with most of the luxury fashion label’s Apple Watch straps also unavailable.
The lack of availability adds fuel to the rumors of Apple’s replacing its genuine leather accessories with synthetic options.
The official Hermès online store continues to show all AirTag and Apple Watch accessories as available to purchase.
