Apple likely to release USB-C charging case for AirPods Pro this month

Apple is expected to launch a new AirPods Pro charging case at next week’s ‘Wonderlust’ special event on September 12, where the Cupertino company is expected to announce the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, Apple Watch Series 9, next-generation Apple Watch Ultra, and more.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will unveil an updated USB-C AirPod Pro charging case, featuring the same charging port as that rumored to be coming to all four forthcoming iPhone 15 models, which will transition to USB-C from Apple’s proprietary Lightning connector.
Respected TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed earlier this year that Apple will release a new version of its second-generation AirPods Pro in the coming months to introduce a new USB-C charging case, aligning with a leak discovered in the latest iOS 16.4 developer beta that referenced unreleased AirPods and an accompanying charging case.
Despite the change the new case, no hardware changes to the AirPods themselves are expected.
Apple announced the second-generation AirPods Pro in September last year, featuring enhanced Active Noise Cancellation over the previous version with incremental new features, including upgrades to Transparency mode, Touch control for media playback and volume adjustments, and more.
