Apple Fellow Phil Schiller joins Threads after deleting Twitter account

Apple’s former Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller, has signed up to Meta’s new Threads app after deleting his Twitter account following the turbulent takeover of the platform by Elon Musk.
Schiller, who now takes on the role of Apple Fellow, took to Threads on Monday to celebrate 15 years since Apple launched the App Store, writing “Happy 15th Birthday to the App Store” with a birthday cake emoji.
As reported by 9to5Mac, Schiller deleted his Instagram account several years ago when the service expanded to Android, and then killed off his Twitter account when Elon Musk started to implement new changes to Twitter, including loosened content moderation, controversial changes to its verification system, a focus on paywalling features.
Despite the lack of a verification badge, 9to5Mac were able to confirm that the Threads account philipschiller007 belongs to the genuine Phil Schiller, confirming that the once head of Apple marketing is now using the Meta-owned platform.
