Tipster says Apple will stop selling M1 MacBook Air after WWDC23 today

With less than an hour to go until Apple kicks-off WWDC23, a tipster has claimed that the 2020 M1 MacBook Air will be pulled from sale following today’s event, with the iPhone maker rumored to only sell the 2022 M2 13.6-inch model and new 15-inch version, which is expected to be unveiled as part of today’s special event.
The rumor comes from a source previously unknown to The Apple Post, so we are unable to say how reliable the tipster’s knowledge is, however, with a new 15-inch model rumored, which would see the M2 MacBook Air line comprise of two models, it would make sense for Apple to drop the 2020 M1 model to simplify its lineup.
The design of the new 15-inch MacBook Air isn’t expected to dramatically change compared to the current 13.6-inch model that Apple announced last year, featuring a Liquid Retina display, 1080p HD camera, MagSafe charging, and more in four new finishes — midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray.
Apple will kick-off WWDC23 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
