Apple shutting down ‘My Photo Stream’ service in July

Apple has announced that it will be shutting down “My Photo Stream” on July 26, 2023, requiring users who still use the service to transition to using iCloud Photos before the shutdown date.
My Photo Stream is a free service from Apple that allows users to access the last 30 days of photos taken with their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or photos they’ve uploaded from a Mac or PC across all their Apple devices.
Apple’s legacy My Photo Stream service was introduced prior to the launch of iCloud Photos, which will now become the only way to keep photos and videos securely stored in iCloud, and up to date on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV and iCloud.com.
As noted by Apple in a new online support document, as part of the shutdown, new photo uploads to My Photo Stream from devices will stop one month before, on June 26, 2023. Any photos uploaded to the service before that date will remain in iCloud for 30 days from the date of upload and will be available to any devices where My Photo Stream is currently enabled. By July 26, 2023, there will be no photos remaining in iCloud, and the service will be shut down.
