Linda Yaccarino named as new Twitter CEO, replacing Musk in around six weeks from now

60-year-old former NBCUniversal head of advertising Linda Yaccarino has been named as Twitter’s new CEO, who will replace Elon Musk in around six weeks from now as the pair work together to transform the platform into X, “the everything app” that will eventually replace Twitter as we know it.
Musk announced on Thursday that he had hired a replacement to takeover his role of CEO after he held a poll on Twitter last year asking users to vote on whether he should step down as the company’s CEO following his turbulent acquisition of the platform in October, in which 57% percent of over 17 million voters voted for Musk to resign.
Linda Yaccarino, who was previously chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal, where she worked for more than a decade, will now manage business operations at Twitter, with Musk switching to focusing on product design and new technology.
Despite stepping down as CEO, Musk remains the company’s owner and will likely continue to play a large part in the company’s decisions moving forward.
