Apple rumored to integrate Siri UI into Dynamic Island with iOS 17
Apple is expected to add new features to the Dynamic Island with iOS 17, with a recent rumor suggesting that the update could see Apple integrate the Siri UI into the pill-shaped cut-out at the top of the iPhone 14 Pro’s display.
The Dynamic Island, which is expected to come to all four new iPhone 15 models later this year, is said to see the animated Siri sphere, currently found at the bottom of the iPhone’s screen, relocated to the Dynamic Island, allowing the on-screen content to remain visible at all times.
The move is part of a wider range of improvements coming to the Dynamic Island according to the rumor, which says “many more notifications will be used with Dynamic Island” with iOS 17, suggesting that we could see Apple deepen the role the pill-shaped interactive cut-out on the iPhone’s display has on the core iPhone experience, with users likely to see notifications come from the Dynamic Island, similar to how Live Activities are shown currently.
Codenamed “Dawn,” iOS 17 isn’t expected to include as many major improvements as iOS 16 did, which introduced the ability to customize the Lock Screen to allow users to change the look of the date and time with type styles and colour choices, add widgets, relocated notifications, and more however, the update is rumored to boast several “nice to have” features, including several of users’ “most requested features.”
