Apple CEO Tim Cook “more confident about the future of Apple” than ever

Apple CEO Tim Cook has said he is “more confident about the future of Apple” than ever after the company reported lacklustre financial results for its fiscal 2023 first quarter on Thursday, which saw the iPhone maker post quarterly revenue of $117.2 billion, down 5 percent year over year, marking the first year-over-year sales decline for the company since 2019.
Speaking on a live audio stream following the financial postings, Cook said he is “more confident about the future of Apple” than ever, with the company revealing that there are more than 2 billion active iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple devices worldwide, as well as more than 935 million paid subscribers to its Services business, which includes Apple Music, iCloud+, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, AppleCare, and more.
Despite product revenue dropping by 8% during Q1 2023, Apple’s install base of active devices grew double digits between October 2022 and December 2022, and set all time records in each category and geographic segment.
