Apple gives third-generation iPad mini ‘Obsolete’ status

Apple has given its third-generation iPad mini obsolete status, a title that is given to products when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago, with the iPhone maker discontinuing all hardware services for the device and putting an end to all support for the once popular iPad model.
Released in 2014 with iOS 8, the third-generation iPad mini featured Touch ID, a 7.9-inch Retina display, a 5MP iSight Camera capable of recording 1080p HD video and a 1.2MP FaceTime HD Camera capable of recording 720p HD video, a new gold color option, and more, proving itself to be one of the most popular iPad mini releases at the time.
By giving the third-generation iPad mini obsolete status, both Apple and Apple Service Providers cannot order parts for products, with all official servicing, support and device repairs unavailable for the device.
