Tesla releases Apple Music support with software update
Tesla has today released a new update to its vehicles that enables Apple Music support – joining other music streaming apps already in the cars, like Spotify and Tidal.
Apple Music support was recently teased at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, where an Apple Music app icon in the Tesla infotainment system on a vehicle running a then unreleased future software version was seen, with the app icon opening a screen when tapped that takes users to a page where they are able to scan a QR code on their phone to sign into Apple Music.
With software update 2022.44.25, Tesla has launched Apple Music support, saying drivers can listen to their entire library, discover new music, tune into live radio stations, and more.
Stream over 100 million songs and 30,000 playlists ad-free. Listen to your entire library, discover new music, and tune into live radio stations. To access Apple Music, tap the Apple Music icon in the Application Launcher, scan the QR code with your mobile device, and login with your Apple ID.
To access Apple Music, vehicle owners must be subscribed to Tesla’s Premium Connectivity subscription.
