Man beaten and robbed outside Apple Store after buying 300 devices at 1:45am
A man has been left with injuries after being robbed outside Apple’s iconic Fifth Avenue store in New York on Monday, with thieves punching the shopper in the face and making off with one of three bags containing 300 iPhones purchased from the store.
The victims, who is being referred to as a 27-year-old by the New York Police Department, left the store at around 1:45am on Monday after purchasing the devices in order to resell them through his small business.
It is understood that the thieves made off with 125 devices worth $95,000 after the shopper was attacked as he was walking to his car following the purchase. According to police, the man wasn’t gravely injured and refused medical attention at the scene.
According to reports, the 27-year-old was a regular customer at the Fifth Avenue store, which is open 24 hours a day.
Police are searching for two men who pulled up alongside the victim as he was loading the goods into his car, who demanded the shopper handed over the bags before the attack and fleeing the scene.
