Apple issues statement warning of low iPhone 14 Pro availability in the run up to the holidays

Apple has issued a rare statement concerning lower than expected iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max availability in the run up to the holidays due to its primary manufacturer operating at significantly reduced capacity due to a COVID-19.
The statement advises that Apple now expects lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than previously anticipated as the holiday shopping season approaches, and that customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.
“COVID-19 restrictions have temporarily impacted the primary iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly facility located in Zhengzhou, China,” the statement reads. “The facility is currently operating at significantly reduced capacity. As we have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain.”
“We continue to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.”
Checks of the online Apple Store show that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are currently expected to be delivered around 4 weeks after customers place their orders. The regular iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus appear to be unaffected, with most models available for delivery without delay.
