iOS 16.2 expanding 5G support to iPhone users in India, beta rolling out next week

Apple has confirmed in a statement to The Indian Express that iOS 16.2 will bring 5G support to iPhone users in India, with a new iOS 16.2 beta expected as soon as next week to allow testes to use 5G in the country.
According to the site, users with compatible iPhone models on Airtel and Jio who participate in the Beta Software Program will be able to try out 5G after the update next week.
5G is expected to be available to 75 percent of the population of India by the end of 2022, with cities including Delhi, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, and Gandhinagar all receiving support for the service before the end of the year, as reported by 91Mobiles.
The news follows after Apple confirmed that 5G support would be enabled via a software update in India last month, as soon as network validation and testing is completed.
Apple is yet to confirm if Indian users will receive support for the sub-6GHz spectrum or mmWave 5G.
