Tim Cook says Apple continuing to see iPhone 14 Pro demand outpace supply
Apple has reported its financial results for the fiscal fourth quarter of 2022, posting a September quarter record revenue of $90.1 billion, up 8 percent year over year.
Speaking in an interview with CNBC’s Steve Kovach, Cook said that Apple continues to see strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max that launched last month, so much so that demand is outpacing supply.
“We’re constrained right now on the 14 Pro and Pro Max and have been from the day we launched,” Cook said. ”And so obviously we’re chasing supply there and trying to get as much supply as we can to solve the demand.”
It has been widely reported that Apple has lowered its internal sales estimates for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus as a result of high consumer demand for the premium iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, with suppliers allegedly being told to scale back regular iPhone 14 production and convert production lines to facilitate the production of the high-end models as the holiday season nears.
