tvOS 16.1 now available with new Siri interface for Apple TV

tvOS 16.1 is now available, introducing a new Siri interface for Apple TV as well as support for the unified smart home protocol Matter, and general bug fixes and improvements.
The new Siri interface is one of the most notable changes with tvOS 16.1, featuring a complete redesign that sees Siri results appear in a compact box in the corner of the TV screen, allowing users to quickly view results without leaving interrupting whatever is on screen.
Siri on Apple TV is now able to recognize each user’s voice, so they can access their movies, shows, music, games, and apps, and pick up where they left off. By using the Siri Remote and asking “What should I watch?” users can get tailored recommendations.
With Matter support, smart home devices will be able to support one protocol to have their accessories work across different supported operating systems. The one protocol ensures interoperability between smart home products from different companies, making it easier to find new smart home accessories that are compatible between devices.
