Apple reportedly upgrading the Mac mini to the M2 chip “within the coming months”
Mark Gurman has reported that he expects Apple to upgrade the Mac mini “within the coming months” to adopt the M2 chip, matching the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro within the latest edition of his weekly Power On newsletter.
According to Gurman, alongside the M2 Mac mini, which includes 8 CPU cores and up to 10 graphics cores, Apple has also tested an M2 Pro variation of the Mac mini, which—like on the next MacBook Pros—will increase the core counts, although it is unclear if the M2 Pro Mac mini will make it beyond the testing stage.
Gurman has not speculated on when Apple could unveil the upgraded Mac mini, simply stating that the machine will launch “within the coming months,” likely alongside new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models which are slated to launch before the end of the year.
