Apple to expand 5G support on iPhone to India from December 2022

Apple has confirmed that 5G support will be enabled via a software update on compatible iPhone models in India from December 2022, as soon as network validation and testing is completed, bringing 5G network connectivity to users after the fifth-gen cellular service started to rollout earlier this month across the country.
5G is expected to be available to 75 percent of the population of India by the end of 2022, with cities including Delhi, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, and Gandhi Nagar all receiving support for the service before the end of the year, as reported by 91Mobiles.
Speaking with The Indian Express, Apple has confirmed that iPhone users in India will receive a software update in December to enable 5G support.
We are working with our carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed, Apple said in a statement. 5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December.
Apple is yet to confirm if Indian users will receive support for the sub-6GHz spectrum or mmWave 5G.
