Apple reportedly releasing iPadOS 16.1 in late October

Apple is expected to release iPadOS 16.1, the first release of iPadOS 16, in late October according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who says the new update is on track to be released on the week of Oct. 24th — barring any new bugs or issues.
According to Gurman, the release of iPadOS 16.1 will link with Apple announcing their financial results for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2022 on Thursday, October 27, with the reporter noting how Apple has historically held launches the week of its earnings calls in October.
Apple confirmed in August that iPadOS 16 would be released later than expected, with reports claiming that engineers required more time to fix bugs with the Stage Manager multitasking feature, which Apple recently announced would be coming to older iPad Pro models after the iPhone maker faced criticism for limiting Stage Manager — the new way to multitask with multiple overlapping windows on iPad — to new models powered by the M1 chip.
