Twitter launches Edit Tweet feature to Twitter Blue subscribers in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand
Twitter has rolled out its highly-requested Edit Tweet feature to paying Twitter Blue subscribers in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, giving users the ability to tap a button to change the text in tweets after they have been posted, Twitter has confirmed that users will only be allowed to edit their tweets five times within 30 minutes following the post’s publication.
Twitter announced that it was working on an Edit Tweet feature in April this year, with the social network revealing in August that it was testing the new tool ahead of a near public debut.
Coming to Twitter Blue subscribers in the US soon, Edited Tweets appear with an icon, timestamp, and label so it’s clear to readers that the original tweet has been modified. Tapping the label takes viewers to the Tweet’s Edit History, which includes past versions of the tweet.
Twitter’s new Edit Tweet feature is only available to paying Twitter Blue subscribers.
