iPhone 14 pre-orders begin to ship ahead of deliveries on Friday

Quickly after some pre-order statuses for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro changed to “Preparing to Ship” over the weekend, a handful of customers are now noticing that their orders have been quietly shipped, with UPS’s tracking service UPS My Choice showing customers incoming deliveries from Apple, despite the official Apple order tracker still showing pre-orders in the “Preparing to Ship” stage.
Apple is likely masking the true order status of many iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro pre-orders as to not give the false hope that pre-orders will be delivered ahead of September 16, when the new devices officially launch. In the same breath, Apple will likely want to hide the fact that many orders will soon be stored in warehouses, waiting for September 16 to roll around before deliveries commence.
UPS My Choice shows that orders are shipping from Apple suppliers in China, with shipping labels printed on Saturday, and units leaving UPS facilities shortly after.
