How to uninstall the iOS 16 beta
Apple has officially released iOS 16, featuring an all-new Lock Screen design, upgrades to iMessage, including the ability to undo and edit sent messages, improvements to Maps, Messages, Focus and Live Text, a redesigned Home app, Health app updates, and much more.
If you have been part of the iOS 16 beta testing cycle and don’t want to continue to receive beta updates, here’s how to revert back to the public version of iOS 16 and return back to receiving official iOS updates as they are released.
Changes to the iPhone Lock Screen are arguably iOS 16’s most major update, bringing new personalization options that allow users to change the look of the date and time with type styles and colour choices, add widgets to their Lock Screen to get information at a glance, such as upcoming calendar events, the weather and battery levels, relocated notifications, and more.

The new update for iPhone includes the ability to recall and edit sent iMessages, schedule mail, collaborate via Messages, improved Focus options, Live Text for video, multi-stop routing in Maps, Apple Pay Later for users in the US, a rebuilt Home app, new accessibility tools, and more.
How to uninstall the iOS 16 beta
- Open the Settings app, tap your name, select iCloud and choose iCloud Backup. Tap “Back Up Now” and wait for the backup to complete
- Return to the main Settings menu and select General
- Scroll down and select VPN & Device Management
- Tap on the iOS 16 Beta Software Profil and select “Remove Profile”
- Enter your iPhone passcode when prompted and tap “Remove” when the confirmation popup appears
Your device will reboot and the iOS 16 beta profile will be removed.
