Apple releases HomePod software version 16

Apple has today released HomePod software version 16 for the original HomePod and HomePod mini.
The details for what’s new with the latest update remain unclear, with Apple not providing details on what the update brings throughout the beta testing period, leaving a lot of unanswered questions about today’s new update, which is available to install now from any device running iOS 16, which is also releasing today alongside watchOS 9 and tvOS 16.
Apple’s previous HomePod update, software version 15.6, added Siri voice recognition support in Mandarin Chinese (China mainland, Taiwan), Cantonese (China mainland, Hong Kong), and Japanese (Japan), as well as including performance and stability improvements.
It is possible that HomePod software version 16 adds further language support, which may then hint at new launch countries for the speaker.
