Here’s everything you need to know about iOS 16
Before downloading iOS 16, here are some helpful tips to ensure your installation runs smoothly.
How to prepare your iPhone for iOS 16
- Check your iPhone is iOS 16 compatible: One of the first steps when preparing your iPhone to install iOS 16 is checking that it is compatible with the new update. Apple has said that iOS 16 will be available on the iPhone 8 and newer.
- Backup your iPhone: Before starting the iOS 16 download, back up your iPhone to iCloud. This allows you to keep a copy of your iPhone data including apps, device settings, Home screen and app organisation, iMessage, text (SMS) and MMS messages, Photos and videos on your iPhone, and more.
- Check your available iPhone storage: Check you have enough available storage space on your iPhone by opening the Settings app, tapping General and scrolling to the iPhone Storage option, where you will see how much available storage space is on your iPhone, as well as a summary of what apps are using the most space.
- Delete Old/Unused Apps: This step isn’t essential, however, upgrading to iOS 16 is the perfect opportunity to look through the apps you have installed on your iPhone and delete any old/unused applications that could be taking up storage space.
With this in mind, you should be good to go.
