Apple reportedly announcing new AirPods Pro at ‘Far out’ special event
As we near next week’s ‘Far out’ special event, where Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE 2, all-new rugged Apple Watch, and more, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said that he believes Apple will announce its long-rumored second-generation AirPods Pro during the keynote, which kicks off on September 7 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT).
Writing in today’s edition of his Power On newsletter, Gurman says a source has said the second-generation AirPods Pro will be unveiled on Wednesday, without sharing any further details, such as the price, what new features the earbuds will have, or any design changes.
Apple’s new AirPods Pro is expected to retain the original design of the first-generation that launched in 2019, with an updated wireless charging case on the cards with speakers to enable louder audio when users play a sound to locate their missing AirPods using Find My.
Reports have suggested that the new AirPods Pro will have support for Lossless Audio, something that currently requires a wired connection to headphones, receivers or powered speakers to listen to music without traditional audio compression.
Gurman has previously said that alongside the new AirPods Pro, Apple may also launch new colors for the high-end over-ear AirPods Max.
