Apple rumored to call new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 the ‘iPhone 14 Plus’

As we near Apple’s upcoming “Far out” special event on Wednesday, September 7, where the Cupertino company is expected to make its biggest announcements of the year so far, a new leak may have just outed the name of one of Apple’s new iPhone 14 models.
The iPhone 14 lineup is expected to comprise of four new models, including two standard and two high-end “Pro” models. For the regular iPhone 14, Apple is rumored to introduce a new, taller iPhone 14 that will offer users the same 6.7-inch display found on the current-generation iPhone 13 Pro Max, without the steeper “Pro” price tag.
Apple’s rumored new 6.7-inch non “Pro” iPhone has commonly been referred to in reports as the “iPhone 14 Max,” however, a new leak on Wednesday from Twitter user @Tommyboiiiiii (via 9to5Mac) is suggesting that the new device could be named the “iPhone 14 Plus,” hinting that Apple could bring back the “Plus” branding it first used with the iPhone 6 Plus in 2014.
The leak shows what is claimed to be an official Apple MagSafe Clear Case for the new 6.7-inch iPhone, with the box clearly showing the rumored new “iPhone 14 Plus” branding.

At this stage, it is impossible to confirm how legitimate the image actually is, however, with the “Far out” special event nearing, it isn’t uncommon for packaging leaks to start surfacing, as suppliers start readying stock ahead of its official debut.
