Apple rumored to give next iPhone SE an iPhone XR-like redesign
Apple’s next iPhone SE will look similar to the iPhone XR, according to YouTuber and leaker Jon Prosser, who suggests that Apple will ditch the iPhone 8-style design of the current-generation iPhone SE with the next update, and replace the design with something similar to the 2018 iPhone XR, featuring an all-screen display, Face ID, and more,
According to Prosser, who shared the insight on the Geared Up podcast, Apple’s next iPhone SE, which will likely be released next year, will be “just an iPhone XR,” suggesting Apple will essentially rebrand the iPhone XR and make internal improvements to speed and performance to breathe life back into the now-discontinued device.
This isn’t the first time that it has been rumored that Apple will give the iPhone SE an iPhone XR-like redesign. In 2021, rumors claimed that the next iPhone SE, which Apple has since released, would offer many of the features of the iPhone XR, though the rumors never came to fruition.
Apple’s most recent iPhone SE update came in March, with the launch of the 5G iPhone SE, featuring the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13, 5G connectivity, better battery life, improved durability, and a new camera system with Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and more for a new, higher price of $429 (US).
