Apple Watch Series 8 rumored to keep same design as Apple Watch Series 7
With the unveiling of Apple’s next-generation Apple Watch looming, rumors are suggesting that the new wearable will retain the same overall design as the current-generation Apple Watch Series 7 it will replace, with the exception of some color options, which are said to be dropped next month when the Apple Watch Series 8 makes its debut.
According to leaker @ShrimpApplePro on Twitter, via MacRumors, the Apple Watch Series 8 will feature the same design as the Apple Watch Series 7 without any design improvements, featuring the same 41mm and 45mm size options and rounded metal cases, with the leaker’s sources unaware of any new sensors added to the forthcoming wearable, suggesting the Apple Watch Series 8 will be a relatively minor upgrade over the previous generation.
The leaker suggests that the Apple Watch Series 8 will be available in Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and (PRODUCT)RED aluminum finishes, with the stainless steel models coming in Silver and Graphite options, compared to the Blue, Green, Space Black, and Gold aluminum options on the Apple Watch Series 7.
Apple is expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 8 alongside an upgraded Apple Watch SE and new rugged ‘Apple Watch Pro’ in September, featuring toughened hardware to withstand use in extreme sporting environments where the wearable is likely to be knocked, bumped and dropped.
