UK’s largest network EE facing outages in Manchester — the country’s second-largest city

The UK’s largest network provider EE is facing outages in the country’s second-largest city — Greater Manchester, with users reporting a complete loss of cellular and data services.
Users in their masses have taken to Twitter to report issues with the EE network on Wednesday for several hours, with the company acknowledging the fault on Twitter noting that work is underway to restore service.
“We are sorry that a number of our customers are having trouble using our mobile services,” the company said. “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
While a large portion of the complaints originates from customers in Greater Manchester, local press from other parts of the country including London, Glasgow and Birmingham also reports that large numbers of EE users are also suffering connection issues and outages.
Almost eight hours after the first complaints started to surface, services still face issues across the network. “Some customers are experiencing problems when trying to use network services this afternoon. We are aware of this and are working to resolve this as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
