Apple releases iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 — Here’s everything that’s new

Apple has released iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5, bringing minor upgrades and improvements including the renaming of iTunes Pass to “Apple Account Card” in the Wallet app, new Request and Send buttons in Wallet for Apple Cash and new Wi-Fi signal indicators in the Home app.
iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 have been in testing since the beginning of April following the release of iOS 15.4 and iOS 15.4 the month prior, enabling Universal Control, 37 new emoji characters, a new feature that makes it possible for users to unlock their iPhone while wearing a face mask without having to authenticate with an Apple Watch, and more.
Today’s new update is relatively minor, reintroduces an Apple Music API that allows third-party Apple Music players to change the playback speeds of songs after it was removed with iOS 15.4, as well as including a list of “Sensitive Locations” to the Photos app, which blocks certain locations from showing in Photos memories including sensitive locations including holocaust memorials.
Users can download iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 now on iPhone and iPad.
