Apple rumored to release new AirPods Max colors in the fall

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared the latest edition of his “Power On” newsletter, reporting how Apple will likely release its long-rumored second-generation AirPods Pro in the fall, suggesting that we may also see new colors for the high-end over-ear AirPods Max that could also release towards the end of the year.
Finishing off a snippet about Apple’s next-generation AirPods Pro, Gurman says: “Also look out for an AirPods Max refresh with new colors (and, we hope, a price drop—$550 is absurd for those headphones).”
Apple launched the AirPods Max over-ear headphones in 2020. Priced at $549, the headphones use a custom acoustic design, H1 chips, Adaptive EQ, Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and spatial audio.
Gurman has previously reported that Apple isn’t working on a second-generation version of the AirPods Max, claiming last year that new colors of the headphones could be released in the future.

Since launch, Apple hasn’t released any new colors for the AirPods Max, with the headphones still available in their launch finishes of Silver, Blue, Space Gray, Pink and Green, similar to the two-toned colors of the 2021 M1 iMac Pro, with the exception of Yellow, Orange and Purple, and the addition of Space Gray.
There is no word on what new colors Apple could include if new finishes were released, but possibly we could see Apple bring over the remaining colors from the iMac lineup.
