Apple brings updated Apple Maps app to users in Germany
Apple has rolled-out its upgraded Apple Maps experience to users in Germany, bringing three-dimensional buildings, enhanced navigation, and more.
Like it has done in London, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., Apple has created highly-detailed 3D models of landmarks across Germany including the Berlin TV Tower and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, with the map adapting to show a moonlit glow activates at dusk to bring the map to life.
Maps now features improved road details to help drivers navigate through cities more easily. Turn lanes, medians, bus and taxi lanes, and crosswalks are clearly displayed for navigating busy intersections. When approaching overlapping complex interchanges, Maps shows a road-level view, making it easier to see upcoming traffic conditions or the best lane for an approaching exit.
In a post to the official Apple Newsroom on Thursday, Eddy Cue, Senior Vice President of Services at Apple, said “Apple Maps is the best way to discover the world and find your way around everywhere, all with complete privacy. We are pleased to provide even more users with today’s introduction in Germany.”
“Maps have been developed from scratch, with better navigation, unprecedented depth of detail, more accurate information about places and incredible functions such as ‘look around’, natural language guidance and more, as you can only find them at Apple. From now on, it is easier than ever for users to find the places they love and get where they want.”
Update: The new Apple Maps experience has also been launched today to users in Singapore.
