Rumored new 15-inch Apple notebook might not be called the ‘MacBook Air’
It was recently reported that Apple is supposedly working on a new 15-inch notebook, believed to be a new MacBook Air, however, reliable and respected TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said the new machine might not be called the “MacBook Air,” hinting we may see the return of Apple’s simply-named “MacBook” during some point next year.
The new machine is expected to be powered by an all-new “M2” custom processor, also expected to feature in Apple’s rumored new 2022 iPad Pro. Prior to Kuo’s speculation on the new name, reports had claimed Apple was working on a fully redesigned MacBook Air, possibly featuring a MacBook Pro-style notch, MagSafe charging, white bezels, and more.
In a tweet, Kuo says if all goes to plan, Apple will begin manufacturing the new 15-inch notebook in 4Q23, saying that “although a larger display generally consumes more power, the design goal is to use the same 30W power adapter as MacBook Air.”
Jon Prosser first shared his 2022 MacBook Air concepts last year which allegedly were based on information from a source with a proven track record who claimed Apple will bring “colors for average consumers” with colorful MacBook models, which will feature iMac-style white bezels, a new non-wedge design, white keyboard, and more.
