Apple releases watchOS 8.4.2 and macOS Monterey 12.2.1

With the release of iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1 today, Apple has also pushed out watchOS 8.4.2 and macOS Monterey 12.2.1, including security improvements to Apple Watch and a fix for an issue for Intel-based Macs that was causing the battery to drain during sleep when connected to Bluetooth peripherals.
Today’s new updates follow after Apple seeded the second developer beta of macOS Monterey 12.3 this week. macOS Monterey 12.3 enables the long-awaited Universal Control feature that allows users to work with a single mouse and keyboard and move between Mac and iPad.
Apple’s release notes for watchOS 8.4.2 and macOS Monterey 12.2.1 paint the two updates to be relativity minor, mainly focusing on improvements rather than new features.
