Apple releases new watchOS 8.4.1 update for Apple Watch Series 4 and later
Apple has released watchOS 8.4.1 for the Apple Watch Series 4 and later, bringing nondescript bug fixes following the release of watchOS 8.4 last week.
Today’s update is only available for owners of the Apple Watch Series 4, Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Series 7, with the release notes for today’s new update simply reading “watchOS 8.4.1 includes bug fixes for Apple Watch Series 4 and later,” without any details on what’s new with the latest release.
Last week’s watchOS 8.4 update fixed a bug from the previous watchOS 8.3 update which prevented some chargers from working properly. The update launched alongside the release of iOS 15.3, iPadOS 15.3, macOS Monterey 12.2, tvOS 15.3, and updates for the HomePod.
Apple Watch owners can update to the latest software version by connecting their Apple Watch to a charger, ensuring it has at least 50 percent battery and tapping General > Software Update in the Watch app on iPhone. The Apple Watch needs to be in close proximity to the paired iPhone for the update to install.
