Apple brings back mask mandate in Apple Stores as COVID cases rise
Apple has returned its Apple Store mask mandate in the US amid rising COVID cases, reports Bloomberg’s Terminal.
Starting today, customers visiting Apple Stores across the US will once again be required to wear a face mask at all times while in-store, with Apple reintroducing limits on store occupancy in more than 100 of the company’s about 270 stores before expanding the procedures to additional locations in the coming days, says Bloomberg.
The change in rules follows after Apple’s Southlake Town Square retail store in Southlake, Texas was closed last week due to a COVID-19 outbreak amongst staff, with NBC News reporting that a total of 22 positive cases among employees have been reported out of the store’s 151 team members.
Breaking on @theterminal: Apple is reinstating its mask mandate at all U.S. retail stores today on rising Covid-19 cases (the mandate had been dropped at about half of its stores). The company will also begin limiting store occupancy once again at several locations.
