Apple resumes product sales in Turkey, increasing prices by 25%
Apple has resumed product sales in Turkey after putting a block to in store and online purchases in the country earlier this week after the Turkish lira crashed to a historic low, with customers seeing a significant 25% price increase across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and AirPods.
Customers purchasing the iPhone 13 Pro in Turkey will now be charged 19.999 TL, up from 14.999 TL earlier this week, the Apple Watch Series 7 at 5.399 TL, up from 4.399 TL, and AirPods Pro at 3.599 TL, up from 2.899 TL.
Turkey’s economic crisis worsened dramatically after the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan defended recent rate cuts that saw the lira drop by as much as 15% in one day.
Customers are now able to shop online and at Apple retail locations in the country, although it is understood that global supply chain shortages are leaving many stores with long queues and extended lead times.
